Just one sniff, and these dogs detect if something is wrong with body’s chemical balance. Usually these dogs, referred to as “medical detection dogs”, are hired to accompany people who already have a medical history and needs constant monitoring. Sometimes, they are also useful in detecting diseases, all just by a simple sniff!
Dogs are currently being trained to go beyond crime fighting and go identification of human diseases as well. An organization is currently focusing this aspect in dog skills, and the co-founder is none other than Dr. Claire Guest.
