Many pet owners are abusing the privilege given to service animals. Reports reveal that there are those who claim that their pets are their “emotional support animal” just to pass the “no pets allowed policy on board the aircraft.
There are many attempts, and although the airlines have declined these owners, they fear that they might have legal obligations when the time comes.
So to avoid that, the Department of Transportation is planning to make it a legal policy for all airlines to have the right to decline clients whose claims are not backed by any legal documents.
